Trauma Informed Sound Meditation

On Wednesday, January 24th and Wednesday February 7th from 6 pm - 7 pm I will be leading trauma informed sound meditation at A New Leaf’s REACH Center for Sexual Violence Survivors. These are free event, and they are open to any sexual violence survivors along with friends, family, and partners of sexual violence survivors.

Trauma informed sound meditation is quite unique in that this form of sound meditation has the practitioner’s needs in mind. As a sound meditation facilitator in this space, I provide a brief introduction to the instruments and I explain how the sound meditation process works. I notify participants that I will not be walking around the room, and will instead be staying in one place at the front of the room. Participants are given directions on how to handle various situations in case emotions start to arise. Transitions between sounds and instruments is smooth and intentional.

These events are held in Mesa, Arizona, and they are always free for survivors and secondary survivors of sexual violence.

If you would like to register, please call the REACH Hotline at 480 733 3028
